UNU-Wider / National Treasury project

Two researchers from TRADE, Prof Marianne Matthee and Carli Bezuidenhout, along with Neil Rankin and Tasha Naughtin from the University of Stellenbosch, are participating in a UNU-Wider / National Treasury project.

The project is aimed at unlocking firm-level data in South Africa from tax records and transaction-level trade data. Prof Matthee and Carli will be paying particular attention to exporting firms and their behaviour over time.
