All students need to write the compulsory bridging programme test on the 15 February 2024 at 18:00. This test comprises of multiple-choice questions. The test is 45 marks and has a duration of 90 minutes in a formal sit-down venue at the students respective campus and will be written under exam conditions. The venue will be communicated to you on the ACCC112, ACFS112 and ACCF111 efundi sites as soon as class commences. The test will be available in English and Afrikaans. There is no alternative date or second opportunity to write this test. If you miss the test for any reason, the bridging programme becomes compulsory.
The results for the test are planned to be released on 23 February 2024. The results will be available on your relevant e-fundi sites for your first-year accounting module (ACFS112, ACCC112 or ACCF111). This material will be useful for students who did not do accounting at a grade 12 school level. If you have passed accounting at a grade 12 school level, you should have sufficient knowledge to pass the bridging programme test. You will need approximately 4-5 days to work through these materials.
What do you need to bring along on the 15 February 2024 to write the test:
- Calculator
- Student card
- Pencil and eraser
- Pen
Stage 2: Bridging programme to commence on 26 February 2024:
If you are not exempt from the bridging programme (you have below 60% for the bridging programme test), you will be given access to the bridging programme efundi site on the date the test results are released. The site is called Bridging ACC MPV Year 2024.
The site should appear on your efundi site as follows:
A hybrid model will be followed for the bridging programme which comprises of 2 elements. An online element which a student will do as self-learning which can be started as soon as the student has access to the bridging programme site on the e-fundi platform and a face-to-face element which will commence as soon as classes start in 2024. The bridging programme works through eleven chapters of basic accounting.
If you do not have access to the efundi site, please contact your campus bridging programme co-ordinator.
Online element:
The online element comprises of slides, videos and additional questions and solutions that the student is required to work through. The most important are the 10 quizzes that the student is required to complete to test the understanding obtained from the materials.
Each quiz can be submitted twice, the highest mark will be recorded. The quiz is approximately 40 minutes each. The quizzes should be completed when the student has a stable internet connection as no exceptions will be made with regards to only two attempts being given to a student. The libraries on the respective campuses have generators which will allow students to complete the quiz uninterrupted.
The 10 quizzes contribute 25% of the students mark for the bridging programme.
Deadline: 10 March 2024 at 16:30 for all 10 quizzes.
The answers to these quizzes will be released on 11 March 2024.
Face-to-face element
The face-to-face element comprises of lecturers on the respective campuses working through questions with the students in a venue. Students can also make use of this opportunity to ask the lecturer questions relating to the eleven chapters. Students need to attend 6 classes which will take place over a two-week period from 26 February – 6 March 2024.
Venues and times of these classes can be found on the bridging programme e-fundi site once the student has access.
The student is required to complete an online assignment that will be released on 11 March 2024 and the deadline to complete is 22 March 2024. The assignment will be completed on the bridging programme efundi site. The assignment will contribute 75% of the students mark for the bridging programme. More details about the assignment will be provided with the instructions on 11 March 2024.
Final mark for the bridging programme:
The bridging programme mark will comprise of 25% of the online quizzes and 75% of the assignment. This combined bridging programme mark will then contribute 5% towards the ACCF111, ACFS112 or ACCC112 participation mark
