Local and international linkages

TRADE’s links with various external bodies are doing much to further the entity’s research aims and enrich its knowledge of global and regional trade and development.
Within a local context, TRADE collaborates with: the dti (Department of Trade and Industry); DAFF (Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries); the North West Provincial GovernmentWesgro (Western Cape destination marketing, investment and trade promotion agency); SENWESITRISA (International Trade Institute of Southern Africa); IBIS (an independent consulting firm); and various South African universities. 
At an international level, TRADE enjoys longstanding partnerships with Prof Ludo Cuyvers of the University of Antwerp and Prof Wim Naudé of the Maastricht School of Management.  TRADE is also a member of UNCTAD’s Virtual Institute based in Geneva, and is involved in projects with theICTSD (International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development), the  World Bank, the OECD, the WTO and the ITC (International Trade Centre).
Another international trade and economic development-focused organisation with which TRADE has ties is the ECDPM (European Centre for Development Policy Management).
