GRADE 12 FOCUS DAY PROGRAMME

On the 06th of March, it was ‘Grade 12 Focus Day Programme’ whereby several schools from around Mahikeng and Mmabatho were invited to Mahikeng Campus. The purpose of this event was to mobilise high school learners to consider NWU as the university of their choice in future.  The Tourism Society was invited to take part and market the School of Tourism Management and the EMS faculty, and they did a very good job, that was coupled with beautiful pictures which were posted on our Facebook page (School of Tourism Management - NWU Tourism Society).

The Tourism Society was again invited to take part in the Societies Launch Day, held on the 13th of March 2020. They had a task as a team to plan for the annual NWU SCC Societies launch. The school coordinator, Ms Kgomotso Mereotlhe together with other lecturers in the school assisted with materials for décor and display. The aim of the event was to put all the societies on campus on the spotlight and under students’ scrutiny. The societies we expected to be at their top game in everything, from organising of stand, students behaviour, vibe, décor, ambience and vibrant atmosphere etc. Indeed the NWU Tourism Society delivered as expected. As such the NWU Tourism Society managed to walk away with the trophy of the Most Organised Society on campus, which was a very big victory for the team. The Trophy is currently kept in the School Deputy Director’s office, Dr Tseane-Gumbi.
