
Prof Nadia Gulko is Professor of Accounting Education and Sustainability, Subject Group Lead at University of Lincoln, UK and an Extraordinary Professor at North-West University, South Africa. She is a Principal Fellow of Advance (PFHEA), qualified with AICPA&CIMA, and is a CGMA Academic Champion in the UK. She is a Member of the Education Committee of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER). She previously held leadership roles as School Director of Teaching and Learning (2018-2021), Programme leader (2017-2019), and served on the QAA Advisory Group Subject Benchmark Statement Review in Accounting (2024-2025). Before joining academia, she worked for over 10 years in industry. Her editorial portfolio includes Associate Editor roles in Accounting Forum, Journal of Accounting Education, and South African Journal of Accounting Research. She has published in journals such as Studies in Higher Education, Business Strategy and the Environment, International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, Journal of Financial Accounting and Reporting, Journal of Business Research. She leads four multidisciplinary large-scale projects on ‘Teaching Excellence’, ‘Inclusive Student Engagement’, ‘Gender Equality in Sustainability Careers’, and ‘Business Education Futures and Skills’. Her work was supported by grants from the British Council, AICPA&CIMA, QAA, PRME UK&I, as well as multiple T&L Innovation & Research funds from her university. Prof Gulko has received research, teaching, and service awards, including Teaching Excellence Award 2017, Vice Chancellor’s Teaching Award 2018, Best Practice Award 2019, Behavioural Awards 2021, 2022, Individual Merit Awards 2020, 2023, AICPA&CIMA Global Teaching Excellence Award 2020, KPMG AAA GIWB USA Best Paper Award 2023, and Excellence Award 2024 in South Africa.
