Professor Tafirenyika Sunde is an academic with extensive experience in economics and research. He is an Extraordinary Associate Professor in Trade and Development at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University. Dr Tafirenyika Sunde is also an Associate Professor at the Namibia University of Science and Technology, formerly known as the Polytechnic of Namibia. Before joining Namibia's then Polytechnic in 2008, he worked as a Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and the Midlands State University (MSU), respectively.
Professor T. Sunde received his PhD and MSc in economics from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) in 2016 and 1997, respectively. His research covers topics in trade and development, macroeconomics, energy economics, applied econometrics, and public policy, published in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals. Prof Sunde was nominated as the best researcher in the Faculty of Management Sciences in 2012 and 2017. He has also participated in government and privately funded projects in Namibia and Zimbabwe
