Nadia Gulko is a Full Professor of Accounting Education and Sustainability at the University of Lincoln, UK. She serves as an Extraordinary Professor at the North-West University, South Africa and a Visiting Professor at the Botswana School of Business, Botswana. She has 20+ years of experience in industry and academia. She holds the Principal Fellowship of Advance HE, recognising her transformational leadership, authentic, innovative teaching, staff development initiatives, partnership-building, and international collaboration. Nadia has extensive experience in Higher Education, including various leadership roles as Interim Deputy Dean (2025-26), Subject Group Lead (2024-25), Director of Teaching & Learning (2018-21), Programme leader (2017-19). She has been promoting excellence, T&L innovation, research, and COIL initiatives. She is qualified by the AICPA and CIMA, trained in SAP, and a member of the Lincoln UNESCO Chair on Responsible Foresight for Sustainable Development. Since 2024, Nadia has been a member of the IAAER Education Committee, and in 2025, she was appointed IAAER Editorial Consultant for Accounting Education (Taylor & Francis). She was a member of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) Advisory Group developing Subject Benchmark Statement in Accounting in 2024-2025, served on the European Accounting Association (EAA) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in 2024-2025, and acted as a consultant to the City of Lincoln Council Social Responsibility Charter Advisory Group in 2017-2022.

 

Nadia’s editorial portfolio includes four Associate Editor roles in Accounting Forum (3*ABS/Q1), Journal of Accounting Education (2*ABS/Q2), South African Journal of Accounting Research (1*ABS/Q2), and Advances in Accounting Education: Teaching and Curriculum Innovations (1*ABS/Q4). She has served as Guest Editor on three Special Issues in the Journal of Accounting Education, the International Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Performance Evaluation, and Accounting Education. She is on the Editorial Board of Business Strategy and the Environment (3*ABS/Q1). Nadia has published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals and has led five international research projects as the Principal Investigator, with external funding received from the British Council, QAA, AICPA&CIMA, PRME UK & Ireland. Her research, teaching, and service awards include Teaching Excellence Award 2017; Vice Chancellor's Teaching Award 2018; Best Practice Award 2019; Behavioural Awards 2021, 2022; Individual Merit Awards 2020, 2023 from the University of Lincoln; AICPA&CIMA Global Teaching Excellence Award 2020; KPMG USA American Accounting Association GIWB Best Paper Award 2023; NWU Excellence Award 2024 in South Africa; Top Cited Paper Willey 2024; and Accounting Streams Outstanding Contributor Award 2025.
