The primary research focus of this sub-programme is on the measurement and effects of work, the work environment and organisational factors on the well-being and motivation of employees - also considering the impact thereof on organisational outcomes. This research focus includes the perspectives of inter alia Industrial and Organisational Psychology (IOP), Human Resource Management (HRM), human resource development (HRD), and the labour relations (LR) contexts - encompassing both quantitative, qualitative, and mixed approaches. Afriforte (Pty) Ltd. is primarily involved with this programme.

ReTORIC (Research and Teaching in Organised & Integrity Crimes)

This research area is the newest sub-programme within the unit and includes research from forensic accounting focusing on inter alia corruption. Specifically, research focuses on the combating of organised and integrity crimes, both at a national and international level. Furthermore, the sub-programme’s research also informs its teaching programmes so that the teaching content remains relevant and up to date.
