Background

Dr. Farai Chigora is an accomplished academic and researcher specialising in destination marketing, with a strong focus on brand management. He holds both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), credentials that underpin his extensive contribution to tourism and marketing scholarship. His doctoral research explored the conceptual link between traditional print media and contemporary digital platforms, addressing critical gaps in building positive destination brand equity in an evolving media landscape.

With over 12 years of experience in academia and university administration, Dr. Chigora has held several leadership roles, including Head of Department, Dean, and chair of various strategic committees. These positions have allowed him to influence academic policy, curriculum development, and institutional strategy, demonstrating both scholarly and administrative excellence. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the College of Business and Management Sciences at Africa University in Zimbabwe, where he continues to mentor students and contribute to academic advancement.

Dr. Chigora is a prolific scholar, having authored more than 20 high-quality journal articles published in Q1 and Q2 ranked journals. His work spans a wide range of reputable, DHET and SCOPUS-indexed platforms, including Tourism Critiques: Practice & Theory (Emerald), Procedia Manufacturing (Elsevier), and several Routledge and Emerald Insight volumes.
