
Prof. Charissa Freese is an extraordinary professor at the North-West University. She is a member of the executive board of Avans University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands, and a full professor in Inclusive Employment Relations and endowed professor on a chair in HRM and Social Security at Tilburg University, the Netherlands.
Her research contributes to the social issue of how employers, employees, and institutions can help create optimal labor market participation. She investigates how HRM can contribute to decent work for non-standard workers, such as the unemployed, people with disabilities, refugees, labor migrants, flexible workers, and solo-self-employed. She published over 100 scientific articles and is the promoter of 12 Ph.D. candidates. She teaches in the course Inclusive HRM at Tilburg University, which she developed with prof Dr. Borghouts. She also developed several HRM-related courses and programs for practitioners in the Netherlands. She collaborates closely with external partners on research, education, and knowledge sharing, and establishes company partnerships. Once a year, she visits the NWU to teach and collaborate on research projects.
