On 19 October 2018, David Dyason received his PhD in Economics at a formal NWU graduation ceremony. His doctoral studies were concerned with investigating the economic value, at a local and regional level, of universities in South Africa and his thesis was titled 'Assessing the economic impact of a South African university campus'. In view of his recent achievement, David was promoted to Senior Lecturer in the School of Economic Sciences.
