LATEST TELIT-TALK

Greetings!

Technology can transform teaching by ushering in a new model for student-centred engagement. Technology integration facilitates active learning and provides innovative solutions to exponential changes in the higher education teaching and learning context. Augmented reality, robotics, simulations, serious games, social media, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and eye tracking are some of the many technologies available to enhance the student experience.

TELIT-SA is a research entity committed to creating an interdisciplinary research community to enhance best practices for teaching and learning with technology. To date, TELIT-SA has researched integrated artefact development, digital assessment, open education resource creation, and learning management system interface evaluation with eye tracking.
If you share our passion for using any technology in teaching and learning, TELIT can assist you in converting it into a research opportunity. For example, research how your students experience your module site with eye tracking, high-quality digital assessment or game development and increase your article outputs.

We are looking forward to innovating the future with you.

What is happening at higher education institutions worldwide?

Today's students are digital natives and seek change from traditional teaching methods. In response to a new generation of students, lecturers have already become more student-centred and revisited their mindset for teaching and learning. In addition, an increased focus on pedagogical approaches emerged with more frequent and effective use of technology for teaching and learning compared to five years ago. To stay up to date with current technological developments, TELIT-SA members attended the Educational Pioneers and Innovators Conference (EPIC) in Rotterdam in May 2022. The EPIC conference showcased what is happening with education at European institutions. Click on read more below to access the EPIC conference document, which has interactive links to resources and web pages, opening up your mind to the developments by international lecturers and faculties.
