TREES is a passionate and enthusiastic research unit whose research supports major government policies since tourism is seen as a critical pillar in economic development. Our research has already made several contributions to improving services and products throughout the region. Government and the private sector regard tourism as an essential industry, and this enhances our relevance.
In addition, more private sector businesses are making decisions based on proper research and this makes us even more relevant and sustainable. We also adapt themes and focuses where necessary to address the specific needs of industries or scholarly communities.
TREES engages in longitudinal research projects in close collaboration with industry practitioners that provides insights into the changing needs of the South African tourism landscape. Our current research projects address relevant and pressing issues related to the tourism industry. Discover more about our projects by clicking on the images below.
