Agricultural Economics conference
A number of TRADE team members were invited to join the organising committee of the 53rd annual conference of the Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA), which was held at the Vredefort Dome in the North West province (a world heritage site) in late September/early October 2015. The aim of the conference was to look critically at the structure and performance of South Africa's agricultural sector and to determine its potential to make a meaningful contribution to the country's economic growth and well being.
One of they keynote speakers at the conference was Prof Wim Naudé, director of the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and one of TRADE's most valued international colleagues. More than 200 delegates (both from South Africa and abroad) attended the conference and a total of 36 papers were presented.
