Background
A Master's degree is a postgraduate qualification that may be pursued following the successful completion of an Honours degree or a Postgraduate Diploma. South African universities typically offer two types of Master's degrees: lectured Master's degrees and research Master's degrees. Lectured Master’s degrees involve completing a series of coursework modules and writing a mini-dissertation (e.g., an MBA), while research Master's degrees require the completion of a full dissertation.
The Master’s degree in Marketing Management is designed to develop students’ intellectual and ethical capacities in a specialised manner. It equips students with the ability to understand and solve complex marketing-related challenges, think critically and innovatively and establisch a solid foundation for further academic specialisation.
