Prof Mia Bothma strengthens the NWU's international ties

Prof Mia Bothma recently had the privilege of participating in an Erasmus+ staff (teaching) exchange at Hochschule Burgenland in Austria, which was a truly enriching experience that underscored the value of international academic collaboration.

During her time at Hochschule Burgenland, she engaged with two programmes:

  • The MA in International Business Relations, where she presented a presentation in the E-commerce and Marketing Metrics module with the title “Data, Drama & the Digital Cart Inside E-Commerce Today, and
  • The Bachelor in International Sustainable Business, where she taught the topic of “Marketing Communication in Action” to the International Marketing Management students.

These sessions were more than lectures—they were interactive, thoughtful exchanges of ideas, enriched by the active participation of students and the warm professional fellowship of faculty members. Beyond the classroom, she also had productive and insightful meetings with colleagues from the department of business studies and the global exchange office. These discussions opened up possibilities for further cooperation, joint projects, and future staff and student exchanges.

This exchange was not only about sharing knowledge—it was also about building bridges between institutions, discovering new perspectives, and laying the foundation for future collaborations.
